They say: “standstill is a step backwards” – and those who know me know that I always shift a gear higher when it comes to creative work. That's why I gave myself something really fine: CO2-Laser of the extra class – the Atomstack Hurricane with 55 Watts of power. And what should I say? This thing has neat womms!

What can the Atomstack Hurricanes at all?
For those who do not know what a CO2-Laser actually does: Basically, it is a high-performance engraving and cutting machine that can process materials such as wood, leather, glass and – particularly interesting to me – acrylic. Contrary to my 3D-Printers that build up layer by layer, the laser removes material – precisely, quickly and with really clean edges.

So perfect for making engraved acrylic signs, logos, signs or personalized decorative elements in the future – whether for truck drivers, garage lovers or as a gift idea with style.

The first attempts – and what should I say: It smokes and it runs ?
I admit it: such a new laser first wants to be tamed. I have the first settings directly with LightBurn made, tried a bit, tested a few speeds – and zag, the first five acrylic signs were already finished. ?

 

Of course, not everything was immediately perfect. A few scrap parts were also included – wrong performance, engraved too deeply, or simply not oriented cleanly. But hey: This is how it works when you get to know new technology. Trial and Error is just one of them – and every “burned” sign takes me a step further.

What's next?
I plan with the CO2-Lasers will soon build up a whole line of acrylic products – personalizable, with truck motifs, perhaps also with illuminated backs or LED accents. Everything handmade and with attention to detail, as you’re used to from me.

In addition, I will probably install a separate area for laser engraving on the side – there you will find signs for workshop, cab, garage or as a funny decoration for home. I have more than enough ideas – and the laser ensures that I can implement them.

Conclusion: something learned again – and really buck on more
The Atomstack Hurricane is not a toy – but a real powerhouse for the workbench. Combined with the right know-how and a little patience, you can achieve really strong results. I am looking forward to showing you the first products in the shop soon.
